# Design System — OpenEMR Foundation

> Read from OpenEMR Foundation's public website (open-emr.org) by Clinical Terminal. Not reviewed by OpenEMR Foundation.
> Use it as inspiration: borrow the ideas, not OpenEMR Foundation's name, logo or identity.

## Ground
- **Light ground** (#F9F9F9), from OpenEMR Foundation's site background #F9F9F9. Pages and panels sit on it.
- Main text: #212529 (14.65:1 on the ground).
- Secondary text is #212529 at 88% / 76% / 60%; hairlines and plate borders #212529 at 16%.

## Color
- **Accent on the ground: #D52D3F** (4.66:1), adjusted from OpenEMR Foundation's primary #DC3545 so it stays readable. Use it for kickers, key numbers and one highlight per screen, not for large fills.
- **Primary #DC3545** for filled shapes (buttons, chips, bars), with #FFFFFF text on it (4.53:1).
- Quote every hex exactly as written above.

## Type
- Headlines: **IBM Plex Sans**. Body: **IBM Plex Sans**. Both on Google Fonts.
- OpenEMR Foundation's site uses Ibm Plex Sans / Ibm Plex Sans; these are the closest free look-alikes.

## Shape
- Cards and panels: 4px corners. Buttons and chips: 3.2px.

## Voice
- Tone: professional. Energy: low. Written for donors and nonprofit supporters.
- Headlines are short and concrete.
