Lifepoint Health Completes Acquisition of Eight Hospitals From ScionHealth
Lifepoint Health has completed the acquisition of eight community hospitals from ScionHealth, a transaction first announced in March 2026. The facilities are located in Idaho, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The acquisition expands Lifepoint Health's network to 68 community hospital campuses. ScionHealth stated the sale is part of its strategy to concentrate on its specialty hospital business. Following the transaction, ScionHealth operates six community hospitals and 63 specialty hospitals.
Both companies are under the common ownership of Apollo Global Management. ScionHealth was formed in 2021 from a separation of assets from Lifepoint and an integration of facilities from Kindred Healthcare. The organizations stated that employees and services at the acquired hospitals will remain in place.
