The RHT program, created by a federal Reconciliation Bill, directs CMS to work with states to identify challenges for rural health providers and invest in solutions. According to a release from the office of U.S. Senator Jerry Moran (R-Kan.), the funds will be tailored to the state's specific needs and do not require a state match.
The investment is intended to improve outcomes for struggling hospitals, fund new technology, and support rural communities.
