Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana to Launch 'Edge' Guided Health Plans in 2027
On June 11, 2026, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana announced the launch of its Edge health plans, a new line of guided health coverage scheduled to be available on January 1, 2027. The plans are intended to lower total cost of care and ease administrative demands for employers.
The Edge plans will feature a broad preferred provider organization (PPO) network and a copay-only benefit structure. According to the announcement, the design aims to make out-of-pocket costs more predictable for members and improve cost efficiency for employers without using narrow networks or reducing benefits.
Members will have access to integrated digital tools for personalized support and educational resources. The plans are powered by Easify℠, a proprietary health plan design from Health Care Service Corporation, the parent company of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana.
