Scholars Network, Penn Medicine Launch Loan Repayment Program to Bolster Workforce
On June 9, 2026, Scholars Network and Penn Medicine announced a partnership to create a talent pipeline for the University of Pennsylvania Health System. The Penn Medicine Scholars Program offers financial support and career pathway development for students in specific healthcare fields.

Under the program, students who commit to working for the health system after graduation and licensure will receive student loan repayment. The support, distributed over three years, includes up to $105,000 for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists, up to $65,000 for Acute Care Nurse Practitioners and Pharmacists, up to $40,000 for nurses with a BSN or higher, and up to $30,000 for Respiratory Therapists.
The initiative aims to address projected statewide shortages of healthcare professionals, according to the Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania. In addition to financial aid, the program is designed to provide early mentorship and career planning to attract external talent. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has reportedly provided funding for Scholars Network partnerships since 2024.
