Overmiller joins Sutter Lakeside from Phillips County Health Systems in northwest Kansas, where she also served as CEO. In a statement, Sutter Health Chief Operating Officer Christina Oh noted Overmiller's "strong rural health care experience and a track record of leading through growth."
At Phillips County Health Systems, Overmiller was responsible for a range of services including inpatient, emergency, outpatient, and behavioral health, according to Sutter Health's announcement. The system's release stated her work there involved leading initiatives to modernize facilities, enhance provider recruitment, and improve operational performance. Before becoming CEO in Kansas, Overmiller held other leadership roles at the organization, including chief operating officer, chief strategy officer, and marketing director. She was also previously the director of growth and marketing for Midwest Family Health.
In her new role, Overmiller will oversee hospital operations and strategic growth, working with Sutter Lakeside Chief Medical Executive Dr. Christina Lasich.
"Having grown up in a rural community and spent much of my career in rural healthcare, I know how much it means to have care close to home," Overmiller said in a statement released by Sutter Health. "I look forward to listening, learning and working alongside our physicians, staff and community leaders to help ensure people throughout Lake County have access to the care and support they need."
Sutter Lakeside Hospital is a not-for-profit facility that provides services including a 24/7 emergency department, cancer treatment, and general and orthopedic surgery.
