Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) led the round, a partner at the firm, Jorge Conde, announced in a LinkedIn post. Other investors included Matrix, VXI Capital, Eli Lilly and Company, BoxGroup, and Mercy Health through Granger Management, according to reports from Dealroom.co and FierceHealthcare.

Founded in 2023 by TJ Parker, Elliot Cohen, and Ashwin Muralidharan—the team that created PillPack and Amazon Pharmacy—General Medicine operates a nationwide online marketplace, MobiHealthNews and other outlets reported. The platform allows consumers to search, compare, and purchase healthcare services with upfront pricing for both insurance and cash payments, according to Investing.com and FierceHealthcare. Available services include telemedicine, prescriptions, imaging, lab tests, and specialist consultations, with a catalog of over 2,900 products and services, MobiHealthNews reported.

The company also offers an AI-powered tool to help patients explore symptoms and care options, according to Investing.com.

General Medicine plans to use the new capital to build out its platform and expand into more categories of care, FierceHealthcare and MobiHealthNews reported. In a statement to FierceHealthcare, Parker noted that General Medicine and investor Eli Lilly are aligned on reorienting healthcare around the end customer.
