Who designs the revenue cycle: 89 product designers at 57 RCM vendors
Revenue cycle software decides how a denial gets worked, how a coder clears a queue and how a patient reads a bill, yet the people who design those screens rarely show up in the industry's coverage. A Clinical Terminal scan of current employment records finds 89 people in product design, UX design, UX research and design leadership at 57 vendors that sell revenue cycle products, as of October 20, 2026.
The teams are small. Most companies on the list show one or two designers, and only four show four: Commure, IKS Health, and, counting adjacent vendors, QGenda and symplr at three each behind them. Thirty of the 89 hold a leadership title (head, director, manager or lead), which means many RCM design functions are run by a single senior person with a thin bench beneath them.
Executive-level design is rare. Three people on the list sit at vice president or above: Henry Hong-Yiu Cheung, VP and head of design at Commure, who is also listed at Athelas; Dusty Segretto, VP of UX analysis and design at Waystar; and Tabby Jewett, SVP of design at Turquoise Health. Several AI-native challengers have put a named head of design in place early, including Candid Health, Claimable, Enzo Health, Anomaly and Notable.
The scan sorts vendors into three groups. RCM-native companies, where revenue cycle is the core business, account for 53 designers at 35 companies.

The list counts only roles Clinical Terminal classifies in a design function and excludes marketing, brand, video and art-direction work. Two records carry caveats: Jordan Campbell's current profile headline names a different venture, so his Inbox Health role may be out of date, and Annika Roll is also listed at Pieces Technologies.
The evidence is thinnest at the largest players. Clinical Terminal holds back roughly 120 more design-department records because their employers are not yet published in its database, so the biggest outsourcers and platforms in revenue cycle, including R1, FinThrive, Experian Health and Optum, are underrepresented or missing here. The absence of a company from these tables reflects a coverage gap, not a company without designers.
