The new advisers are Michael Dowling, Toby Cosgrove, MD, and Richard Lofgren, MD. Dowling led Northwell Health as president and CEO for more than two decades and is now the New Hyde Park, N.Y.-based system's CEO emeritus. Cosgrove served as president and CEO of Cleveland Clinic from 2004 to 2017. Lofgren was the inaugural president and CEO of Oklahoma City-based OU Health until his retirement on June 30, and previously led Cincinnati-based UC Health; he was also Nexus' first health system customer, per the release.

The advisers will counsel Nexus leadership on health system strategy, clinical transformation and growth, the company said. Nexus plans to name additional advisory board members later in October. The company was founded by Akram Boutros, MD, former president and CEO of Cleveland-based MetroHealth System.
