Beth Israel Lahey Health Taps COO Peter Shorett as Next CEO
Beth Israel Lahey Health has named Peter Shorett as its next president and CEO, an appointment that will take effect in January 2027. Shorett is currently the Cambridge, Mass.-based system's senior executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Shorett will succeed Kevin Tabb, MD, who announced in March his plan to step down. Tabb has led the system since its 2019 formation. According to *Becker's Hospital Review*, the board of directors selected Shorett after a national search.
Prior to joining BILH in 2019, Shorett was a senior partner at consulting firm Chartis, where he reportedly helped plan the system's creation. As COO, he led strategy and helped form a cancer collaboration with Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. His duties as CEO will include overseeing the ongoing integration of cancer care between BILH and Dana-Farber.
