HCA Florida North Florida Hospital Appoints Stephanie Tijerina as COO
HCA Florida North Florida Hospital in Gainesville has named Stephanie Tijerina its chief operating officer, effective Oct. 5. The appointment was detailed in an Oct. 7 news release.
Tijerina joins from HCA Florida Northside Hospital in St. Petersburg, where she also served as COO. At Northside, she helped grow the hospital's surgery, cardiovascular, and neuroscience services and directed more than $21 million in capital improvement projects. She also acted as interim CEO from May through July during a leadership transition.
According to the release, Tijerina managed the temporary relocation of a regional transplant program after Hurricane Milton, which supported 16 organ transplants. She has more than 19 years of healthcare leadership experience and has served in the U.S. Navy Reserve since 2012. In her new role, she will support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives at the Gainesville hospital.
