WellSpan Health names Providence executive Laureen Driscoll as next CEO
WellSpan Health, based in York, Pa., has named Laureen Driscoll, MSN, RN, as its next president and CEO, effective Jan. 4, according to an Oct. 7 news release reported by Becker's Hospital Review. Driscoll will succeed Roxanna Gapstur, PhD, RN, who has led the system since January 2019 and announced plans to retire in April; Gapstur's last day is Jan. 3.
Driscoll currently serves as chief executive of Renton, Wash.-based Providence's South Division, where she oversees 17 hospitals and roughly 41,000 caregivers across Northern and Southern California, the release said. Before joining Providence in 2022, she held leadership roles at Tacoma, Wash.-based MultiCare Health System, including president of Tacoma General and Allenmore hospitals and president of MultiCare Deaconess Hospital in Spokane, Wash.
WellSpan operates 12 hospitals, more than 250 patient care locations and more than 24,000 team members, according to its website.
