West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital Earns Hospital-Wide Zero Harm Recognition for 2025
West Tennessee Healthcare Volunteer Hospital in Martin, Tenn., was recognized hospital-wide by the Tennessee Hospital Association for achieving zero healthcare-associated infections in all four measured categories during 2025, according to the hospital. The categories are catheter-associated urinary tract infections, central line-associated bloodstream infections, MRSA, and Clostridium difficile infections.

The hospital reportedly reached Zero Harm in all four categories in 2023, earned recognition in three categories in 2024, and returned to all four for 2025. CEO Kevin Decker said the recognition reflects the care team's commitment to safe, high-quality care; CNO Penny Harding was also named in the announcement.
According to the hospital, 100 Tennessee hospitals received Zero Harm recognition in 2026 based on 2025 results, with only 16 achieving hospital-wide recognition across all four categories. The awards are presented annually by the Tennessee Hospital Association to hospitals and clinical departments that go extended periods without specific healthcare-associated infections.
