# Carle Health Names Steven Ramirez SVP, Chief Technology Officer

In the role, Ramirez is responsible for governance, prioritization and sustainability of enterprise technology across Carle's eight hospitals. His portfolio includes Epic and other clinical systems, the enterprise technology roadmap, the project management office and platforms such as Workday, along with infrastructure and technical operations spanning networks, data centers, the service desk, telecommunications and biomedical device integration. He also guides cybersecurity and resilience and AI and innovation through matrixed leadership.

Ramirez spent nearly five years at Renown, joining in January 2022 as vice president and chief information security officer and adding chief technology officer duties in May 2023. Earlier roles include assistant vice president and chief information security officer at Louisville, Ky.-based UofL Health, IT security and privacy officer at IBM, IT solutions lead at Change Healthcare, corporate IT manager at Baptist Health and business resilience manager at Catholic Health Initiatives.

Carle described the CTO position as a newly expanded executive role reporting to its executive vice president and COO, according to a May job posting.
