# University Hospitals names Melissa Cohen VP of venture development at UH Ventures

The role is newly created. Cohen will oversee the design, operation and deployment of UH Ventures' investment vehicles, with responsibilities spanning fund strategy and governance, investment and portfolio management, new venture formation, capital development and strategic partnerships, per Becker's.

She will also work with University Hospitals' finance leadership to align venture investments, company formation and portfolio strategy with the system's long-term financial and strategic goals.

Cohen most recently was chief innovation and transformation officer at Centralus Health System, formerly [Cayuga Health](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/hospital/101793056), where she led clinical and administrative transformation, helped develop the system's digital and AI strategy, and worked on new business development.
