Kansas critical access hospital names Jason Anglin CEO

Jason Anglin was named CEO of William Newton Hospital in Winfield, Kan., effective Aug. 31, the nonprofit critical access hospital announced Sept. 2. He succeeds Gigi Fergus, RN, who served as interim CEO for 12 months.

Anglin brings 32 years of healthcare executive experience, including more than two decades as a CEO of community and regional hospitals. He most recently led Monroe County Hospital in Monroeville, Ala., and spent his first decade in the field as a hospital CFO. According to the release, he has guided five financial turnarounds, overseen eight construction projects, and recruited more than 30 providers to rural and regional communities.

His early priorities include listening tours across hospital departments, a financial analysis to shape the coming fiscal year plan, and provider recruitment in primary care, emergency medicine, OB-GYN, orthopedic surgery, and anesthesia. He also plans to explore establishing pain management services.

William Newton Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital operating six rural health clinics across Cowley, Elk, and Chautauqua counties.
