Jenn Schwartz takes over as ChristianaCare president and CEO

Jenn Schwartz began serving as president and CEO of Newark, Del.-based ChristianaCare on Sept. 1, succeeding Janice Nevin, MD, who retired after nearly 25 years with the health system, according to Becker's Hospital Review.

Schwartz joined ChristianaCare in 2018 and most recently served as executive vice president and chief strategy officer, guiding enterprise strategy and growth with a focus on value-based care, ambulatory expansion, clinical integration and partnerships. The board selected her as Nevin's successor in April.

Before ChristianaCare, Schwartz was vice president of legal affairs and general counsel for Willingboro, N.J.-based Lourdes Health System and chief executive director of the LHS Health Network Accountable Care Organization. Earlier, she was a partner at Fox Rothschild and GluckWalrath.

Nevin spent 12 years as ChristianaCare's president and CEO, joining the system in 2002 and holding several leadership roles before becoming CEO in 2014. ChristianaCare operates three hospitals, a growing network of microhospitals, a freestanding emergency department and urgent care centers.
