Centene Appoints Fannie Mae Executive Bradley Bolivar as New CIO
Centene named Bradley Bolivar its new chief information officer, effective August 31, 2026. Bolivar was most recently the CIO for government-backed mortgage company Fannie Mae. He succeeds Brian LeClaire, who has served as Centene's CIO since late 2022 and is set to retire by the end of October.
Bolivar has nearly 30 years of technology leadership experience. According to a company announcement, he expanded the use of artificial intelligence while at Fannie Mae. His prior experience includes technology leadership roles at Warner Bros. Entertainment and the consulting firm Sapient.
His appointment comes as Centene focuses on implementing AI to streamline operations and reduce costs after a period of high medical spending. The company reported that efficiencies, including from AI, helped lower its adjusted selling, general and administrative costs to 6.9% of revenue in Q2 2026, compared to 7.1% in the prior year.
The CIO change is one of several executive leadership adjustments at Centene in 2026. The company previously created two new executive roles, made changes to its board, and announced that its chief financial officer would step down at the end of the year.
