Lifepoint's Elmer Polite Tapped as President for Atrium Health Navicent
Atrium Health Navicent has named Elmer Polite its new president, effective in September 2026. According to an Aug. 26 announcement, Polite will oversee the Macon, Ga.-based system's hospitals and care sites across Central Georgia. Atrium Health Navicent is part of Advocate Health.
Polite joins from Lifepoint Health, where he most recently served as president of Division I, with responsibility for 25 hospitals across 10 states. He joined Lifepoint in 2021, first serving as CFO of its eastern division before being named its president in 2023. That role included oversight of facilities within the Duke LifePoint Healthcare joint venture.
Prior to Lifepoint, Polite was chief financial executive for Prisma Health’s Midlands market, where he oversaw six hospitals. His career also includes leadership positions with HCA Healthcare’s Macon market, East Georgia Regional Medical Center, and Trinity Hospital of Augusta.
