Barrow Neurological Institute names Dr. Amit Kandel director of stroke center, neurovascular division
Barrow Neurological Institute has appointed Amit Kandel, MD, MBA, as director of the Petznick Stroke Center and Neurovascular Division, according to an announcement from the institute on Aug. 25, 2026.

Kandel also holds the Dorrance Chair of Vascular Neurology and serves as a professor in the Department of Neurology, as well as senior advisor of global systems of care for Barrow Global. He is board certified in neurology, vascular neurology, and brain injury medicine, and specializes in stroke and other neurovascular conditions.
