Memorial Healthcare System names new CEOs at two Florida hospitals
Memorial Healthcare System has promoted Felicia Turnley to CEO of Memorial Hospital Miramar and Stephen Demers to CEO of Memorial Hospital West, according to an Aug. 24 announcement. Turnley currently leads Memorial Hospital Pembroke, while Demers had served as CEO of Memorial Hospital Miramar since 2023.
Demers began his new role at Memorial Hospital West on July 27, 2026. Turnley will transition to Memorial Hospital Miramar in the coming weeks. Shane Strum, interim CEO of Memorial Healthcare System, said both are proven leaders committed to quality, safety, and patient experience.
During Demers' tenure, Memorial Hospital Miramar earned five consecutive "A" Hospital Safety Grades from The Leapfrog Group and a 5-Star Overall Hospital Quality Rating from CMS. Turnley, a 25-year Memorial veteran, oversaw expansion of freestanding emergency services in southwest Broward, including the Red Road ER and Douglas Road ER openings.
