Montgomery County Memorial Hospital to Acquire Dental Practice, Open Integrated Rural Health Clinic

The Montgomery County Memorial Hospital (MCMH) Board of Trustees voted on May 27, 2026, to approve a resolution authorizing the acquisition of Dental Care, PC, a practice owned by Dr. Kim Truka. The acquisition paves the way for a new Downtown Rural Health Clinic in Red Oak, Iowa, with a target opening date of early 2027.

The clinic will integrate dental, primary care, and urgent care services under one roof, with behavioral health services planned to follow. MCMH says the model is anticipated to be the first of its kind in Iowa, and will be the hospital's fourth Rural Health Clinic. Current Dental Care, PC patients will retain their records and care relationships, with Dr. Truka and her team remaining in place.

CEO Michael O'Neal said the project grew from a shared commitment to improving access, and Dr. Truka noted the Rural Health Clinic model expands options for private practices. The clinic will offer primary and urgent care Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, with same-day urgent care available.
