UW Health CFO Bob Flannery plans to retire Jan. 8, 2027, a spokesperson for the Madison, Wis.-based health system confirmed Aug. 14 to Becker's Hospital Review. Flannery has held the CFO role for more than a decade, according to his LinkedIn page.

Before becoming CFO, Flannery served as senior vice president and chief administrative officer of the practice plan, and earlier as CFO of the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation. The spokesperson credited Flannery with guiding UW Health through market volatility, regulatory shifts, and the pandemic while maintaining financial stability and supporting growth.

UW Health operates six main hospitals across Wisconsin and Illinois, with more than 26,500 employees and over 2,000 employed physicians, per its website.
