Nadia Ovchinsky, MD, Named Chair of Pediatrics at NYU Langone Health

In her previous role, she more than doubled the division's size and helped establish the Pediatric Liver Transplant Program at Hassenfeld Children's Hospital, transforming it into a regional referral center for complex gastrointestinal and liver disorders. She succeeds Catherine S. Manno, MD, who retired in 2025 after 17 years as chair.

Dr. Ovchinsky assumes the role during a period of growth for children's services at NYU Langone, which includes more than 35 clinical specialties, over 100 ambulatory locations, and 201 pediatric beds system-wide. The department handles more than 608,000 outpatient visits and over 9,500 pediatric inpatients annually. She will work with pediatric leaders across the system, including Arun Chopra, MD, chair of pediatrics at NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island.
