Monica Baskin named director of VCU Massey cancer center

Dr. Monica Baskin has been named director of Virginia Commonwealth University's Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center, becoming the first Black woman to lead a National Cancer Institute-designated cancer center, according to a report by Audrey M. She is also the first female director in Massey's history and one of only nine women currently leading a comprehensive cancer center in the U.S.
