The project will add a dedicated cancer center, an expanded emergency department, inpatient beds and ICU, additional operating rooms, expanded imaging and diagnostic services, a larger Richard E. Jacobs Health Center, and a patient parking garage.

Rebecca Starck, vice president and chief medical officer of Cleveland Clinic Avon Hospital, said the expansion aims to bring services closer to Lorain County residents who currently travel long distances for care. CEO Tomislav Mihaljevic said the project focuses on expanding access to Cleveland Clinic quality care.
