# Abridge, Kaiser Permanente debut Care Signals AI platform

*[Abridge](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/company/100013903) and [Kaiser Permanente](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/hospital/720761) have launched Care Signals, a new capability within Abridge's ambient documentation platform that spans the full clinical visit, according to Becker's Hospital Review. The tool flags relevant patient conditions before a visit, tracks whether conditions are discussed during it, and generates ICD-10-matched documentation afterward. It was co-designed, built, and first deployed at Kaiser Permanente over 15 months.*

Care Signals aims to reduce clinician burnout and improve diagnostic specificity by surfacing conditions with supporting evidence, potentially aiding risk-adjustment reporting and coverage decisions. Kaiser Permanente's [Paul Minardi](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/person/100088156), MD, said the tool has taken diagnosis reporting "to a very, very different level," while Abridge CEO [Shiv Rao, MD,](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/person/101556891) described it as delivering "a team of assistants" to every clinician.

Kaiser Permanente tested the tool with more than a dozen clinicians, including Trina Davis, MD, who said it stays in the background and never forces actions. The rollout is phased, starting with 100 to 200 clinicians in Colorado and Washington, then expanding to California, Georgia, and Risant Health affiliates. [Kaiser Permanente Ventures](https://app.clinicalterminal.com/company/101710202) is an investor in Abridge.
