ECU Health Receives Duke Endowment Grant for Maternal Health Initiative
ECU Health has received a grant from The Duke Endowment to participate in the Maternal Infant Health Carolinas initiative, according to a June 21, 2026, announcement.

The multiyear initiative is designed to improve maternal and infant health outcomes, enhance care coordination, and promote health equity across North and South Carolina.
As part of the effort, ECU Health will utilize the H.E.A.R. (Healing, Equity, Advocacy and Respect) 4 Mamas and Babies program. The program, which was developed at The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), is a text- and phone-based screening and referral system used to identify medical needs.
