Penn Medicine Names Craig Gronczewski CEO of Doylestown Health

Penn Medicine announced on May 4, 2026, that it has appointed Craig Gronczewski, MD, as the new CEO of Doylestown Health, effective June 1. Gronczewski replaces Jim Brexler, who retired after overseeing Doylestown's merger into the Penn system last year.

Gronczewski, an emergency medicine physician, will move from his role as chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs at Penn Medicine Princeton Health, a position he has held since December 2020.

The University of Pennsylvania Health System acquired Doylestown Health in April 2025. The system, which includes a 245-bed hospital, is Penn Medicine's seventh hospital.
