Managed Health Services to Fund Indiana Workforce Programs for Medicaid Recipients

On June 16, 2026, Managed Health Services (MHS), a Centene managed care subsidiary, launched the MHS Serves Workforce Support Program. The statewide Indiana initiative will fund nonprofit community organizations that provide employment support to Medicaid members, aiming to address barriers like transportation, childcare, and education gaps.

Funding will be awarded in two tiers: grants from $50,000 to $150,000 for direct workforce services, and grants from $300,000 to $500,000 for regional coordination of workforce systems. Selected partners must report on metrics including employment placement and job retention. Applications for the program are open through June 19, 2026.

The program was launched as MHS prepares for new Medicaid eligibility rules in Indiana that will require certain adults to meet work or community engagement standards. It builds on the MHS Serves initiative, which began in 2023 to address social drivers of health. In a previous funding round, that initiative awarded $1.2 million to 19 organizations.
